The 1st book I thought was good well written and paced. Yes he scares me, but he defiantely has my heart. I must say I read Lara Adrian novels 1st and I love her writing, so it took me a minute to fall in love with these guys. This was the one that made me cry. Okay I just bought the boxed set of the 1st 6 novels in this series.
but if u are going to read just one, read this one. I highly recommend this series just based on the 1st 3 books. Zsadist, I just fell in love with him. but in this book I skipped nothing. Rhage really had to grow on me though. I have to say I did sort of skip over alot of the villian stuff in the 1st 2 books of the series, was a bit boring. but the character of John Matthew I have to say is my favorite. I also loved that this book in my opinion, was very well paced and you read more about all the other characters @ just the right pace.
I received them on tuesday 2/2/10 and I've already read the 1st 3. the dynamic between he and the brothers, and bella was awesome. although to get a better feel of everyone, I do recommend reading them in order. the 2nd book was good but really kinda caught me off guard with everything that was going on. but I understood him even though he's a bit too freaky ;~) but so far I have to say that Lover Awakened is my favorite out of this series yet.
Thank you, JR Ward, for the Brotherhood. This was my favorite, by far. The whole series is phenomenal.
It reminded me of reading Acheron in the Dark Hunter series, however this was much more fulfilling. Zsadist's story is one that I could re-read over and over again. I connected with the characters, with the struggle and love how the entire Brotherhood changes and grows with each book.
I love this series. The transformation of the characters was gradual and realistic. I loved this book.
JR Ward is not afraid to surprise the reader with twists in the plot. I cannot wait to read the next book and kind of sad that I am almost done. There is nothing like the feeling of urgency to get home and settled so I can get back to reading this book.
I thought the level of action vs romance was perfect.
In any case, every book in the series is worth reading, maybe twice. I must admit that I was a little frustrated that it took so long for Zhadist to finally come around and realize that he & Bella should be together permanently, but I do realize that in reality it probably would take him a long time because of his background. :) I am addicted to this series. Zhadist is super hot.
While it was difficult to read the pain and suffering of his past, it was necessary to really see him and understand why he was so hardcore. I LOOOOOVE Zsadist, so Lover Awakened is my favorite. I thought Ward did a fabulous job with this character. I love a good love story where the guy is a bad boy who is not obviously handsome and is very flawed; falls in love with the girl who thinks he's beautiful and she is able to break through that shell. I thought this was the most romantic, heart wrenching and beautiful story so far.
